Hi, I’m the creator of CMJB.
My name is Jennifer, but you can call me Jane. Jane Bond. Now that you’ve got the reference, let’s get acquainted. I am a 26 year-old French-African digital marketer who recently moved from France to Germany. In advance, pardon my French: English is not my native language (there goes my perfect excuse for making mistakes).
I have a passion for traveling, writing (now), playing games, making things happen, learning, speaking foreign languages, a curiosity for experiencing new things… the list is long. Talking about myself is always weird. Instead, enjoy these 5 fun facts about me.
- I seem to be physically unable to cross my legs (am I the only one?)
- I was born in Togo and lived in Benin for 8 years
- I left France to live in Taiwan & China to learn mandarin
- I am obsessed with my difficult yet beautiful kinky hair
- I moved to Germany to be with my partner (but I tell everyone it’s for adventure because I’m embarrassed)
Why CMBJ?
Because I felt the urge to start telling my story. I had a hard time finding online testimonies of people who look like me, so I decided to create my own platform. Indeed, representation in blogging matters too :). I write to tell the stories that we keep to ourselves. That’s why some topics will be deeply personal. I love writing (although I’m not so good yet), it’s helped me healed some of my wounds. That’s why this platform is for all women of all shapes, backgrounds and colors. Contact us if you want to share your testimony.
Who the hell is “Jane Bond”
Jane Bond is the representation of strong women. Although she will never exist in movies, she is very real. I think we are all Jane Bonds because no matter the problem, women always manage to thrive. And that is a mindset I admire and will keep looking up to. You’re probably one of us strong girls! I’d love to know more about the readers of this blog. If you’re down, introduce yourself.
What content will you find here?
We write about pretty much everything we care about. The topics may vary from career posts to black women or black issues, from traveling to living in Germany and much more. Here’s a quick overview of the content you will find on this blog:
- Career : Everybody has a story to tell about their workplace. This is where you can read more. Get started with articles about getting fired and job loss.
- Travel : Follow me on my journey learning languages and traveling while black in the world and attending a wedding in India.
- Black Women : Let us celebrate dark skin beauty, and raise awareness about the Black Lives Matter movement, Black Travel and all things black!
- Lifestyle : This will do with life interests. Check out this one about the cultural differences between working in France vs Germany.
- Interviews : You’ll read about the life journey of inspiring women. The first one is about Assa, the woman who wants to make Ivorian Craft sexy again.
- Thoughts & quotes : Here I will write very short posts about my weirdest, spontaneous thoughts to start a discussion. A good example is my I’m in Trouble post.
