Hi guys, did you notice anything? My new blog is live and it’s giving me life! Apologies if you tried accessing it in the process, but I was working, friend! The result of this blog makeover looks a lot like this GIF: we were cute before, now we’re just burning hot.
I know I started blogging only last month, but I figured if I’m gonna do this, I might as well take it seriously. Plus I am currently unemployed, and there’s a pandemic outside, so it feels like this was meant to be! But what really changed apart from the design you might ask?
The purpose of this blog
Before, it was all about me talking about my life experience. But I want to actually grow this blog, and make it a safe, useful space for women from all over the world. And although I created a specific category for black women, I want to make sure that all women feel included. My goal remains the same: empower and inspire women by sharing our life stories.
Quick overview of the content you will find on the new blog:
- Career : Everybody has a story to tell about their workplace. This is where you can read more. Get started with my articles about getting fired and job loss.
- Travel : Follow me on my journey learning languages and traveling while black in the world. Next to come, my time in China, Benin, and India.
- Black Women : Let us celebrate dark skin beauty, and raise awareness about black issues. Upcoming, is a post about my obsession for Afro hair and a book review on Afro hairdos.
- Lifestyle : This will do with my life interests which include video games, korean culture (and by that I mean K-drama and BTS), and life in France vs Germany.
- Interviews : You’ll read about the life journey of inspiring women. The first one is about Assa, the woman who wants to make Ivorian Craft sexy again.
- Thoughts & quotes : Here I will write very short posts about my weirdest, spontaneous thoughts to start a discussion. A good example is my I’m in Trouble post.
Special announcements
We hit 1000 views since March? WHAAAAAT? Thank you so much guys! I see you German friends and you, rest of the world. Special MERCI to my team baguette. The least I could do, was translate this blog to French (initially because my family complained but hey, it serves a greater purpose!). Now don’t be too hard on me when I only publish one article per month. Translation = double work, and I am already crying.
Last but not least, is a section dedicated to you, fellow bloggers and followers. I have updated my “About” page, so now it’s your turn : I would love to get to know my readers, and discover new blogs to follow. If you’re down to chat, introduce yourself and leave a link to your blog or website :).
With all that said, I have to ask: do you like this new style? This blog makeover got so deep and complicated that I am considering writing a post about moving from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. Would you like that?
